Hi, I’m Mark Walker. Nearly 10 years ago, I chose to make Okotoks home, and I couldn’t imagine raising my family anywhere else. My wife and I are blessed with two young sons-and since we live in Okotoks, of course we had to have a dog! Ours is named Luke Sky Walker. You’ll often find us out in the community keeping busy together at local parks, events, or cheering on our neighbors.

I come from a large Christian family with 10 siblings, and that upbringing shaped my values of teamwork, service, and looking out for one another. I’ve carried those values into my own life here in Okotoks. I enjoy both sports and the arts, and I’ve had the privilege of serving on local committees such as the United Way and condo boards, as well as volunteering with the youth of Okotoks-something I’m especially passionate about.

Professionally, I work as an operations manager where I oversee projects and daily tasks, making sure jobs get done right and on time. That role has given me experience in leadership, problem-solving, and building strong teams-all skills I want to bring with me to Town Council.

Family and community are at the heart of everything I do, and it’s why I’m running: to ensure Okotoks continues to be a thriving place to live, work, and raise a family-not just for mine, but for yours too.

Intelligent Growth

My goal is to make sure our community grows in the right way - with careful planning so we can welcome new families while protecting the quality of life we all enjoy.

We need better roads and amenities, and I’m committed to easing traffic in key areas like 32nd Street. Without proper planning, daily life for all of us is affected.

Most importantly, I will listen to you. Together, we can create a plan that puts Okotokians first.

My focus is on practical leadership that always puts people first. As Okotokians, each of us has a voice, and I promise to listen and bring your concerns to Town Council.

I’ll advocate for better ways to stay connected — whether through online forms, emails, texts, surveys, or even casual coffee meetings. My goal is to make sure you’re always in the loop and that your voice is truly heard.

Fiscal Responsibility

As a hardworking father, I understand what it takes to provide for a family.
Whether you’re raising kids, enjoying retirement, just starting out, or running a business, you deserve to know your hard-earned money is being spent wisely.

I’ll work to ensure tax dollars go toward the things that truly matter to our community - healthcare, infrastructure, and recreational facilities. Just as importantly, I’ll make sure the why behind every spending decision is clear and accessible to you.

Safe and Strong Okotoks

As a father, I want Okotoks to be a safe and welcoming place for my children - and for yours.
I want them to have everything I had growing up, and more. That means growing a prosperous Okotoks by focusing on safety, community, and smart planning.

I will work to ensure our local RCMP and peace officers have the resources and community partnerships they need. I’ll also push to make sure our infrastructure - roads, utilities, recreational facilities, and more - keeps pace with our population growth.

When families have access to strong programs, activities, and opportunities, we build a safer community where crime is reduced and everyone thrives.
